Sewage

The Summer Village of Val Quentin is a member of the Tri-Village Regional Sewer Services Commission (TVRSSC), working in partnership with the Summer Village of Sunset Point and the Village of Alberta Beach. Together, the Commission operates and maintains a shared sanitary sewer system that provides reliable wastewater collection and treatment for our communities.

About the System

  • Oversees daily operation, maintenance, and monitoring of the regional wastewater system.

  • Manages service connections and sewer permits for residents.

  • Develops policies and bylaws to ensure safe and efficient system use.

Resident Information

  • Permits & Connections:
New connections or sewer permits must be arranged through the Village of Alberta Beach Office.

    • Permit Fee: $2,500 (subject to change).

  • Clean-Out Installations:
New sewer connections require a clean-out at the property line extending to ground level. Existing connections may need updates depending on line length or maintenance history.

  • Prohibited Items:
Help protect the system by keeping these materials out of your drains:

    • Wipes (including those labeled “flushable”)

    • Oils, fats, and grease

    • Solids or foreign objects

    • Chemicals or hazardous substances

What You Can Do

  • Be mindful of what goes down your drains—only wastewater and toilet paper should enter the system.

  • Report any sewer issues, backups, or concerns promptly to the TVRSSC maintenance team.

  • Keep your clean-out accessible for inspections or maintenance.
